Assistant Director, Marie Pyper

"Pardon me, do you sing Baritone?" This was my husband's pick-up line when we first met at church one October morning in 1982. He was trying to form a mixed quartet for the upcoming Christmas concert and he needed one more female to make up the foursome. I had been singing with the Baytone chapter of Harmony Inc. in North Bay for a couple of years at that time, and I was delighted to sing with him. You never know how you will meet the man of your dreams!

However, as the years moved along, we got married and I continued to enjoy the singing and camaraderie with the Baytone chapter. I directed that chorus for 10 years, and attending HITS became a regular part of my summer activities. When Bob and I retired, he really wanted to move to southern Ontario to be within driving distance to sing with the Toronto Northern Lights chapter. So we settled in Grimsby and that was an easy drive to St. Catharines where I joined Sing Niagara. All of a sudden I had 40 new friends and I feel it is an honour to sing with a group of women who are such good singers and who are dedicated to work hard to be the best they can be.
